Plane Crashes At Langley Air Force Base

A plane crash occurred at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia, on Thursday (April 24). The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the crash of an experimental MX Aircraft MXS, a single-seat stunt plane often used in air shows. The incident happened as the plane was approaching the base around 11:50 a.m. local time.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that only the pilot was on board during the crash. While there are unconfirmed social media reports suggesting aerobatic pilot Rob Holland may have been involved, no official confirmation has been provided. Emergency responders are currently on the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

The crash occurred just days before the biennial Air Power Over Hampton Roads air show, but officials have not confirmed any connection between the crash and the upcoming event. According to WTKR, there are no confirmed details on injuries, the cause of the crash, or damage to any other aircraft. The NTSB will lead the investigation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
