Person Assessed for Injuries From Apartment Fire in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD (CNS) – Firefighters quickly extinguished flames in a Hollywood apartment that led to one person being assessed for injuries Sunday, authorities said.

At around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, flames were reported in one unit on the first floor of a three-story building in the 5900 block of West Gregory Avenue near Vine Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Crews were able to knock down the fire, which had extended into a wall.

The person being assessed on the scene was in fair condition, authorities added.

Hazmat specialists were working to manage the disposal of a lithium ion battery, found in a rechargeable scooter in the unit.
