Inglewood’s High-Tech Intuit Dome Named to Time’s World’s Greatest Places

INGLEWOOD (CNS) – The Intuit Dome, home to the Los Angeles Clippers, has been named to Time’s 2025 World’s Greatest Places list, it was announced Thursday.

The Inglewood venue, set to host NBA All-Star 2026 and all basketball events for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, with many events in between, opened its doors in August 2024. In January, the Dome hosted the FireAid benefit concert, which featured megastars Billie Eilish, Joni Mitchell, a Nirvana reunion and more, and is estimated to have raised more than $100 million to support the rebuilding of L.A. communities following the recent wildfires.

The $2 billion arena includes five basketball courts — the game court, two practice courts, one promotional court and one court on the outdoor plaza. In addition, it features 86,000 square feet of training, medical and player spaces, including an indoor pool, and an 80,000-square-foot outdoor plaza that features two bars, a restaurant and 5,000-square-foot team store.

“Los Angeles hit a slam dunk with the launch of the new Intuit Dome,” Time reported in its 2025 World’s Greatest Places list, which says concession purchases and entry to the stadium are “frictionless, using facial recognition via the Dome’s app.”

In addition, Intuit has three times the number of toilets of the average NBA arena, Time states.

The seating area features what is known as The Wall, a 51-row section with strict rules designed to ensure only Clippers fans are admitted — through restrictions on ticket resale and the wearing of opposing team gear. An immersive sound system measures levels not just for the arena, but for every seat, each of which comes with its own USB port.

The Dome is also highlighted by a public art collection of works created by local artists, including murals, sculptures and digital displays.

Construction on the Dome officially began in September 2021 near the corner of Century Boulevard and Prairie Avenue, south of SoFi Stadium and the Kia Forum.

Intuit Dome secured its LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, and is equipped with solar panels and water- preservation efforts like low faucets, drought tolerant-landscaping and water- efficient irrigation. The venue is designed to be carbon neutral.

While the nearby Forum remains primarily a music venue, and although the Dome has already landed a series of high-profile concerts, its main purpose will be to house the Clippers, who shared the downtown Crypto.com Arena with the Lakers since it opened in 1999.

Considered a technological marvel, the Dome notably boasts a two-sided Halo Board scoreboard that encircles the arena with nearly an acre of lighting, covering 38,375 square feet.
