Woman Sought in Assault on Santa Ana Food Truck Vendor

A violent assault on a food truck vendor in Santa Ana has left the community shaken. The incident occurred on August 9 near Washington Avenue and Santiago Street around 6 p.m. The Santa Ana Police Department is currently searching for a woman who allegedly attacked the vendor without provocation. Surveillance footage shows the suspect hitting the victim multiple times before a bystander intervened, causing the suspect to flee the scene on foot.

The victim, who wishes to remain anonymous for safety reasons, described the attack as unexpected and frightening. “She hit me more than five times, for sure,” the vendor told NBC Los Angeles. “She left me two bruises on my left shoulder.” The vendor expressed uncertainty about the attacker’s motives, stating, “I don’t know what was going through her head. I don’t know if she was on drugs.”

The suspect is described as a Hispanic woman between 35 and 45 years old, wearing a red oversized T-shirt and black socks without shoes during the attack, as reported by KTLA. The police urge anyone with information to contact Santa Ana Police Investigative Specialist V. Lee at 714-245-8375 or via email at VLee@santa-ana.org.

As the search for the suspect continues, the vendor now fears for her safety and feels the need to carry protection when walking to work. The Santa Ana Police Department is actively investigating the case and seeking public assistance to identify the suspect. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward.
