Woman Missing After Jumping Out Of Moving Vehicle In A Disorientated State

A 32-year-old woman from Long Island, New York, named Brittany Kritis-Garip, is missing after she jumped out of a moving vehicle and ran off in a panic. The incident occurred last Friday (March 20) around 8 p.m. in Oyster Bay. Her husband, Fernando Garip, said she was in a distressed state when she exited the car, threw her phone into a bush, and disappeared.

Surveillance footage captured Kritis-Garip’s last known location in Oyster Bay. Her family, along with volunteers, have been searching wooded, rural, and suburban areas in hopes of finding her. Her brother, Niko Kritis, described her as “vulnerable” and urged residents to check their properties for any signs of her, as she might be seeking shelter in secluded areas.

The Nassau County Police Department has been actively involved in the search, using helicopters and drones to cover the area. A GoFundMe page has been set up by her friend, Sarah Castor, to aid in search efforts, raising over $15,000.

Authorities have asked anyone with information to contact the Nassau County Police Department’s Missing Person Squad. Kritis-Garip is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing around 140 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing black pants and a black jacket with a fur collar.
