Authorities in Texas believe that three people found dead in a burned-down home were murdered. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said that firefighters were called to a house fire at Cypress Mill Park Community around 7 a.m. on Sunday (August 18).
After putting out the flames, they discovered three bodies, which showed signs of trauma and foul play. Investigators believe the victims, identified as Kelly Masciarelli, 54, her son, Kolin Foster, 23, and his girlfriend, Cameryn Richard, 21, were dead before the fire was started.
They believe the fire was the result of arson after finding evidence that an accelerant was used to help the fire spread throughout the house.
“This is definitely a homicide, not accidental death due to fire and smoke inhalation,” said Sergeant Michael Ritchie of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division.
Officials said they are following up on leads but have not identified any suspects in the case.
