A 24-year-old woman from San Bernardino County is in custody following a road rage incident on the 10 Freeway. Angeline Marie Gable, a resident of Loma Linda, allegedly opened fire on another vehicle during a dispute over a lane change, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The incident occurred at approximately 8:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes, east of Riverside Avenue.
Authorities reported that Gable, driving a gray Nissan Rogue, fired several rounds at a black 2024 Honda Civic, striking it multiple times. A witness immediately called 911, and CHP officers later found the victim’s vehicle, noting bullet holes. Using automated license plate readers (ALPRs), investigators tracked Gable’s vehicle. The Flock Safety camera system, which captures vehicle details, helped identify the suspect’s car.
Officers from the Fontana Police Department located Gable’s vehicle later that day and conducted a traffic stop. Gable and another woman were detained until CHP officers arrived. During the vehicle search, detectives found a loaded firearm matching the witness’s description.
Gable faces multiple felony charges, including attempted murder and discharging a firearm at an occupied vehicle. She was booked at the San Bernardino County Detention Center. The role of the other woman in the vehicle remains unclear, and no further details about her involvement have been released.
CHP Captain Lance Berns emphasized the seriousness of the incident, stating, “Deliberate acts of violence such as these will not be tolerated.” The investigation continues as authorities work to gather more information about the shooting and any potential charges against the second woman involved.
