Wind Warnings Issued for Parts of Los Angeles County

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A wind advisory has been issued for parts of Los Angeles County Friday, with a high wind warning going into effect Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

The wind advisory has been issued for the Antelope Valley, the Tejon Pass, Lake Palmdale, Mount Pinos, Pyramid Lake, Elizabeth Lake, Lockwood Valley, Ozena and Gorman starting at 3 p.m. Friday until 6 p.m. Saturday.

The high wind warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday until 11 a.m. Sunday in the same areas.

Northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are in the forecast Friday and Saturday. Winds will increase to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph on Sunday and will be strongest in the Interstate 5 corridor and Western Antelope Valley foothills.

It will be sunny with highs in the low 90s in the Antelope Valley on Friday and Saturday. By Monday, high temperatures will be in the 80s.
