Wild Rivers Waterpark in Irvine, will participate in what is being called the ‘World’s Largest Swimming Lesson’ on Thursday, June 26, joining a global initiative to prevent childhood drowning. The event, themed “Mission Possible: Swim Lessons Save Lives,” aims to highlight the critical importance of swim instruction for children.
The lesson will begin at 10 a.m. and will occur simultaneously at hundreds of locations worldwide. Participants are required to pre-register and check in by 9:45 a.m. The registration fee is $40 per person, which includes admission to the swim lesson, full-day access to the waterpark, and an exclusive T-shirt for the first 150 participants. Additionally, $20 from each registration will be donated to the Jasper Ray Foundation, which works on drowning prevention.
Drowning is a leading cause of death for children ages one to four, making swim lessons a vital life skill. Susan Kruizinga, Director of Sales and Marketing at Wild Rivers, emphasized the importance of community responsibility in water safety, saying, “We are thrilled to team up with MemorialCare and the Jasper Ray Foundation to spread awareness and fund programs that help make drowning a preventable tragedy” as reported by South Coast Magazine.
Space for the event is limited, and it is expected to sell out. Interested participants can register at wildrivers.com using the password WLSL2025. The event is part of a broader effort to promote water safety as summer approaches and families head to pools and beaches.
