President Joe Biden was seen stumbling multiple times and needing assistance from his wife, First Lady Jill Biden, while walking through sand on a beach near his Delaware home in footage captured by C-Span Sunday (November 10).
Biden, 81, appeared to lose balance several times while walking through the deep and uneven sand, which included having the first lady hold his arm to keep him steady. The president then walked faster for a few wobbly steps as nearby reporters shouted questions about his upcoming meeting with Republican President-elect Donald Trump set to take place at the White House on Wednesday (November 13).
“Biden is currently battling the sand at his beach house in Delaware. (The sand is winning),” the RNC Research X account, which is managed by ‘Team Trump’ and the Republican National Committee’ wrote in a post sharing the clip.
Biden responded to the reporters with inaudible one-word answers but ignored their questions, according to a press pool report obtained by the New York Post. The president was also reported to have walked with his wife along the water and checked his phone, at which point the first lady walked ahead, before the couple returned to the White House hours later.
Biden’s beach appearance came amid questions regarding his mental and physical strength to serve as president, having ended his campaign in July after a poor debate performance against Trump weeks prior. The president quickly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris, who was defeated by Trump in the 2024 presidential election last Tuesday (November 5).
