USC Tuition Rises 4.8% to $73,260 for 2025-26

The University of Southern California (USC) announced a 4.8% tuition increase for the 2025-26 academic year, bringing the cost to $73,260. This marks an increase from the previous year’s tuition of $69,904. Total costs for undergraduates not living with their parents are estimated at $99,139, up from $95,225. These costs include housing, meals, books, supplies, transportation, and fees.

The university’s meal plan will rise from $7,660 to $8,028, and housing costs will increase from $12,271 to $12,879. Fees will also go up from $1,743 to $1,902. However, the cost of books and supplies will decrease from $1,200 to $650, and transportation costs will drop from $441 to $414.

USC stated that the tuition increase is necessary to adjust for rising costs in higher education and to maintain high-quality education and student success. The tuition is a significant source of the university’s academic operating budget, covering costs such as teaching, student services, facilities, and administrative support.

To help mitigate costs, USC will increase its undergraduate financial aid pool at the same rate as the tuition increase. The university is also launching a Digital Course Materials program, which will provide required course materials online for a flat fee, saving students approximately 80% on book costs.
