US Naval Base On Lockdown After Reports Of Intruder On A Boat

A US Naval base in Florida, the Naval Air Station Pensacola (NAS), went into lockdown after an intruder reportedly arrived by boat on Monday (March 2). The base, known for housing the Navy’s Blue Angels, closed its gates to the public after a man beached his vessel nearby and ran onto the base.” The incident prompted immediate security measures to ensure the safety of personnel and the facility.

Details about the intruder’s identity or motives have not been disclosed. The situation is under investigation, and authorities are working to secure the area and assess any potential risks.

In a statement on Facebook, and official said that while the main gate remains open, the base remains closed to public visitors.

The base will remain closed to the public until further notice as authorities continue their investigation.

The lockdown comes amid fears of a potential terror attack following the joint U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran over the weekend. The coordinated strikes took the life of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Iran launched retaliatory strikes across the Middle East, which have left at least four US soldiers dead.
