The United States Mint has unveiled a new series of commemorative coins to celebrate the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The release includes three designs—a $5 gold coin, a $1 silver coin, and a half-dollar clad coin—each featuring unique artwork that honors the global reach of soccer and the significance of the tournament.
“The FIFA World Cup 2026 coin program reflects President Trump’s unwavering commitment to the brave men and women of our military, and the families that serve alongside them,” said Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent. “Every surcharge dollar will directly support youth soccer initiatives for service members’ children, expanding opportunities that build character, resilience, and community.”
With the tournament set to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, fans in North America and beyond have a new way to mark the occasion. The commemorative coins are expected to be made available through banks and coin exchanges in the lead-up to the event.
The launch is part of a continent-wide celebration, with the Royal Canadian Mint also issuing two one-dollar commemorative coins. These Canadian coins feature a mosaic maple leaf, the official FIFA World Cup 2026 logo, and inscriptions noting the host cities Toronto and Vancouver. The Canadian government authorized the production of these coins, designed to circulate widely and appeal to the public, following an online survey that showed strong support for the project.
Both mints worked closely with FIFA to ensure the coins capture the excitement of the World Cup and offer fans a unique keepsake as the region prepares to welcome teams and supporters from around the globe.
