Two Sets of Sisters Among Victims in Deadly Crash In Santa Ana

A tragic single-car crash in Santa Ana late Saturday night resulted in the deaths of four individuals and injuries to two others. According to Officer Natalie Garcia of the Santa Ana Police Department, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Segerstrom Avenue and South Townsend Street.

The vehicle, a silver Lexus sedan, was traveling at high speed when it veered off the road and struck a tree in the center divider. The impact was so severe that it ejected two of the six occupants, while the remaining four were trapped inside. Emergency crews arrived promptly to assist the ejected victims and extricate those trapped in the wreckage.

County News TV reported that both ejected victims were taken to a nearby trauma center, with one in critical condition and not expected to survive. The four individuals trapped in the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims included five females and one male, all residents of Santa Ana. Officer Garcia noted that several of the occupants were siblings or related, with two sets of sisters among them. The ages of the victims ranged from early teens to early 20s.

The police are investigating the possibility that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The Santa Ana Police Department confirmed that five of the individuals were associated with the Santa Ana Unified School District.

In addition to the fatalities and injuries, debris from the collision damaged two other vehicles traveling in the opposite direction. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from these vehicles.
