MONTEBELLO – Two people were killed and two others were injured in what police say was a possible attack with a hatchet at an apartment complex Thursday in Montebello.
Officers from the Montebello Police Department responded to an apartment on West Lohart Avenue around 2:30 a.m. regarding multiple reports of several people who had been attacked, NBC4 reported.
Police discovered the body of one man inside an apartment who appeared to have been in a pool of blood, with apparent stab wounds, according to ABC7.
Paramedics from the Montebello Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced two victims dead. The other injured parties were taken to hospitals in unknown conditions.
NBC4 reported the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department would be assisting the investigation of the attacks. Deputy David Yoo of the LASD told City News Service his department was waiting to be contacted by their Montebello counterparts.
