Two Injured in Shooting Near Inglewood College

A shooting near Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Inglewood, California, on Friday has left at least two people injured. Police responded to the scene on Aviation Boulevard shortly before 4 p.m. after reports of gunfire. According to Inglewood Mayor James Butts, the suspect, who was reportedly wearing a security guard uniform, shot at least two women who were taken to a hospital, they are reportedly in critical condition.

ABC7 reported that the suspect is no longer believed to be in the area, but law enforcement is conducting a thorough search of the campus as a precaution. Officers and L.A. Fire Department crews were seen responding to a building where the suspect was initially barricaded before fleeing.

KTLA noted that the shooting led to a heavy police presence, with nearby roads closed to traffic. The police are actively searching for the suspect. Details about the motive behind the shooting are still unclear.
