Two Injured in Shooting at Downtown Los Angeles FIGat7th Mall

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A shooting  outside the Target store at the FIGat7th shopping mall in downtown Los Angeles Monday evening left two people wounded, one critically.

An arrest has not been made, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers responded to the outdoor mall in the 700 block of South Figueroa Street, near Seventh Street, around 8:55 p.m. Monday to reports of shots fired, police said.

Two victims were taken to a hospital, one whom CBS 2 said is a security guard, in critical condition. The condition of the second victim was not immediately known.

Investigators described the suspect as a white man with afro-styled hair, last seen wearing a black shirt, pants, and scarf, according to police.

The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene toward 8th Street, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing information from police radio calls.

It was unclear what motivated the shooting, and detectives were conducting an investigation Monday evening..

A 9-year-old boy and a 24-year-old woman were stabbed at the store on Nov. 15, 2022, by a 40-year-old homeless man, who was shot and killed by a security guard employed by Target, LAPD Chief Michel Moore said.
