Two Arrested for Alleged Robbery on Melrose; Two Suspects at Large

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A robbery suspect is in custody Friday following a pursuit involving a Lamborghini and a BMW that began in Los Angeles and ended in Ventura County.

Los Angeles Police Department from the department’s Wilshire Division responded at 8:57 p.m. Thursday to reports of an armed robbery at a smoke shop located at 7223 Melrose Avenue, between North Alta Vista Boulevard and Formosa Avenue, where multiple suspects allegedly stole two firearms, LAPD Officer Charles Miller told City News Service.

The suspects, driving a yellow Lamborghini Urus and a black BMW, led LAPD officers on a chase through the Fairfax area, Hollywood and into North Hollywood.

The pursuit continued when the suspects drove onto the Ventura (101) Freeway and led officers into Ventura County and eventually into a gated community in Moorpark. Officers from the California Highway Patrol, Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies and LAPD officers located one of the suspects , who was trying to hide in bushes and a barn before trying to enter a nearby residence, according to reports from the scene.

Miller said at least two additional suspects managed to evade capture and are still at large and police recovered the stolen firearms.
