Trump Introduces Staffer Who ‘Saved My Life’ With Chart During Shooting

Former President Donald Trump introduced the “computer genius” staffer he credited for saving his life during an assassination attempt.

“She should come out. Just tell her to come out here for a second,” Trump said at a rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Wednesday (August 1) night, weeks after the incident at another held in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13. “Quick, quick, quick, quick, you got to get her.”

“She saved my life, in a sense,” the former president added as the young staffer shyly walked toward the podium.

The staffer shook her head twice when asked by Trump if she wanted to speak before simply saying “hi” into the microphone and walking off the stage.

“She’s a computer genius,” Trump said. “She saved my life.”

Trump’s right ear was grazed during the shooting and he was seen yelling “fight” to his supporters while being evacuated from the rally by Secret Service members. One spectator, identified as Corey Comperatore, 50, was killed during the incident while two others, David Dutch, 57, of New Kensington, and James Copenhaver, 74, were initially critically wounded but later upgraded to stable condition.

The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was immediately taken out by Secret Service agents, though was also reported to be on officials’ radar as a suspicious person more than 90 minutes before opening fire. Trump officially accepted the Republican presidential nomination during the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on July 18.
