Former President Donald Trump claims X’s tech issues were responsible for him sounding “somewhat different and strange” during his interview with billionaire Elon Musk Monday (August 12) night.
“My conversation with Elon last night was heard by a RECORD audience, and was really something special, as Elon himself is very special – and I thank him for such a strong Endorsement! Unfortunately, because of the complexity of modern day equipment, and cellphone technology, my voice was, in certain areas, somewhat different and strange. Therefore, we have put out an actual, and perfect, recording of the conversation. ENJOY!!!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account Tuesday (August 13) night.
Several listeners pointed out that Trump sounded like he was slurring or had a lisp during the livestream. The interview was delayed by about 40 minutes, which Musk initially blamed on a server attack before admitting it was due to “unforced errors” and “mistakes” by his X team.
“Given the prominence of this conversation, there was of course a 100% probability of DDOS attacks,” Musk said, referencing a “Distributed Denial of Service,” an online site breakdown that occurs in response that blocks incoming traffic when a server is flooded by fake users.
“We also had some unforced errors ourselves,” he added after receiving several complaints. “But good work by the X team fending off the attacks and fixing our mistakes! All’s well that ends well.”
