Total Illegal Migrants Arrested During Trump’s First Month Revealed

More than 20,000 illegal migrants were reportedly arrested during the first month of President Donald Trump‘s administration, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced in a press release shared last week.

The more than 20,000 reported arrests are a 627% increase from the 33,000 made during the final year of former President Joe Biden‘s administration in 2024.

“President Trump and this Administration are saving lives every day because of the actions we are taking to secure the border and deport illegal alien criminals. Hundreds of thousands of criminals were let into this country illegally. We are sending them home, and they will never be allowed to return,” Noem said.

A total 538 illegal migrants were reportedly arrested by ICE during Trump’s first four days in office, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to the New York Post in January. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers continued raids of migrants who are either wanted for crimes in their native countries or had committed crimes while in the U.S., which reportedly included individuals accused of murder, rape and molestation.

Trump, who made illegal immigration a key talking point during his successful re-election campaign, declared a national emergency at the southern border during his first day in office on January 20. The president announced that Tom Homan, a former acting ICE director, would serve as a “border czar” for his new administration in a post shared on his Truth Social account on November 10.
