Tiger Woods has returned to the United States after completing a rehabilitation program in Switzerland. The 50-year-old golf legend was seen stepping off his Gulfstream G550 at Palm Beach International Airport on Wednesday (May 13), marking his first appearance on U.S. soil since early April. Woods had traveled to Switzerland for treatment following a DUI arrest and rollover crash near his home in Jupiter, Florida, on March 27.
Woods opted for overseas treatment, citing privacy concerns in the U.S. His attorney, Douglas Duncan, explained that the decision was based on the recommendation of Woods’ treating physician, who believed that the necessary level of care couldn’t be provided domestically. Despite his return, Woods still faces legal challenges, including two misdemeanor charges related to the DUI incident.
A Florida judge recently ruled that prosecutors could access Woods’ prescription drug records as part of the ongoing case. While the information will remain confidential, it could play a crucial role in the legal proceedings. Woods is currently missing the PGA Championship at Aronimink and is not expected to participate in the U.S. Open next month.
The golf star’s return has sparked speculation about his rehab’s completion and his future in the sport. Woods has announced a hiatus from golf and has withdrawn from leading the U.S. team in the 2027 Ryder Cup.
