A monthlong search for Mackenzie Dalton, a 16-year-old from South Carolina, has ended with her being found safe, according to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities discovered Dalton in Lexington County after an extensive investigation into her disappearance.
The search for Dalton began late last year, prompting concern and efforts from both law enforcement and the community. During the investigation, authorities arrested 18-year-old Mackenzie Keith English Jr. He faces charges of obstruction of justice for allegedly lying to investigators about his involvement with Dalton and his knowledge of her whereabouts. English is currently held at the Lexington County Detention Center.
The sheriff’s department clarified that there is no evidence to suggest that Dalton was held against her will or was with someone she did not wish to be with.
