Teen Shot To Death, Six Wounded at Woodland Hills House Party

WOODLAND HILLS (CNS) – A 16-year-old boy was shot to death and six others were wounded by gunfire Sunday at a house party in Woodland Hills.

The shooting occurred about 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 5900 block Winnetka Avenue, a couple of blocks north of the Ventura (101) Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police said the suspect had been arguing with several people inside the house and as he was being escorted out by security, then fired several shots into a crowd outside the party before fleeing.

The gunman fired several shots into the air before turning the gun on a crowd estimated at more than 200 people, NBC4 reported, citing police.

A 16-year-old boy found on the ground in the driveway was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics rushed the wounded victims to a hospital, where their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Police had no description of the suspect.
