A 17-year-old from Wisconsin, Nikita Casap, is facing charges of first-degree intentional homicide after allegedly killing his mother, Tatiana Casap, and stepfather, Donald Mayer, and living with their bodies for nearly two weeks. The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office discovered the decomposed bodies on February 28 during a welfare check initiated by Mayer’s mother in Massachusetts. Tatiana was found in a hallway, while Mayer was in a first-floor office, both covered with blankets and pillows.
Court documents reveal that Nikita shot his mother multiple times and his stepfather in the head on February 11. He continued attending school and living at home until February 23. Authorities arrested him on March 1 in WaKeeney, Kansas, during a traffic stop. Officers found Mayer’s firearm, along with credit cards, jewelry, and surveillance video in the vehicle.
Prosecutors noted Nikita’s attempts to flee to Ukraine, as he communicated with someone in Russia about the plan. He also sent disturbing images and messages to a classmate, referencing his parents’ murder and discussing the loudness of the .357 Magnum used in the crime. Nikita faces additional charges, including hiding a corpse, theft, and identity theft.
His bail is set at $1 million, and he could face life in prison if convicted.
