Tail End of Tropical Storm Maintains Humidity

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Wet and muggy are key conditions for Southern California weather Friday but the threats of flash floods and mudslides have passed, according to the National Weather Service.

The remnants of Tropical Storm Mario will continue to affect the region through the day bringing humid conditions showers and isolated thunderstorms.

“Temperatures may be cooler due to cloudy skies and showers, but areas that receive any sunshine during the day will heat up rapidly,” the federal agency said in a statement. Some drying will take place over the weekend, but there is slight chance of showers as additional moisture from the south arrives.

Temperatures will be near normal and the muggy weather will continue into early next week.

High humidity was expected to continue Friday, with levels of 63% in downtown Los Angeles, forecasters said. The muggy weather will persist through the weekend, though at slightly lower levels.

It will be mostly cloudy in the morning then sunny with highs in the upper 70s to mid-80s.

Temperatures will stay high through the weekend as well, with inland highs in the mid-80s.
