Suspect Identified In ‘Targeted’ Warehouse Shooting

Bruce Reginald Foster III was identified as the suspect in a “targeting” shooting at an Ohio cosmetics warehouse that took place Tuesday (February 4) night, New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones told WSYX early Wednesday (February 5) morning.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and five others were transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained during the incident at the KDC/One cosmetics building in New Albany, which is located about 15 miles northeast from Columbus. Foster is described as a Black male who is 6-feet, 175-pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

The suspect isn’t believed to be a risk to the public given the nature of the suspected “targeted” attack, according to police.

“We believe we may know their location. We don’t have any reason to believe that they are a general threat to society,” Jones said via WSYX. “It appears at this point to be a targeted type of attack.”

Jones confirmed that the “large building” had been cleared but called the situation “fluid.” Police recovered one firearm at the scene, however, have not yet determined a motive and noted that they didn’t receive any “reports of an altercation beforehand or afterward.”

Jones said that some people were “self-evacuating the building” when officers arrived at the scene, but noted that first responders were able to evacuate everyone else, which was estimated to be “at least 150 people” and place them in a “neighboring building” located about 40 yards away.
