Street Takeover in Downtown LA Leaves Metro Bus Vandalized

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A Metro bus was vandalized with graffiti during a street takeover Monday in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.

Officers were sent to Flower Street and Olympic Boulevard about 3 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Beyond a “large number” of vehicles involved in a street takeover, dispatchers received calls of fireworks being set off and possible gunshots, according to the LAPD.

At least 50 vehicles were involved in the takeover, according to the Los Angeles Times, which reported that investigators found no evidence of gunfire.

Photos from the scene showed the windows of a Silver Line bus covered in graffiti.

There was no immediate comment from Metro regarding the incident.

No injuries were reported, and no one was arrested, police said.

The incident follows another illegal street takeover in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning that left two vehicles engulfed in flames.
