A small plane crashed into a home in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, on Saturday (March 29), igniting a fire but leaving the residents unharmed. The incident occurred near the intersection of 109th Avenue North and Noble Parkway around 12:20 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The aircraft, a SOCATA TBM7, had departed from Des Moines International Airport in Iowa and was en route to Anoka County-Blaine Airport in Minneapolis.
First responders quickly arrived at the scene to evacuate the area and manage the fire. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz stated, “My team is in touch with local officials on the scene in Brooklyn Park and we are monitoring the situation closely,” expressing gratitude for the efforts of the first responders.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate the crash, with the NTSB taking the lead. As of now, the number of people on board and the cause of the crash remain unknown.
Nobody inside the home was injured.
