Shocking Video Shows Police Fire At Boys, 7 And 9, Playing WIth Loaded Gun

In a troubling incident in Albuquerque, New Mexico, drone footage captured by the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) shows two young boys, ages seven and nine, handling a loaded gun. The video, recorded in February and released recently, depicts the boys passing the gun back and forth and attempting to hide it behind their backs.

The BCSO utilized drone technology and their Behavioral Health Unit to manage the high-risk situation. Deputies fired a non-lethal weapon to distract the children, which allowed them to secure the area safely. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

The sheriff’s office reported that the boys are receiving therapy, family services, and juvenile probation. Their parents are also undergoing therapy and have legal representation. Sheriff John Allen mentioned that the gun malfunctioned when one of the boys attempted to pull the trigger, preventing a potentially deadly outcome.

The BCSO has been called to the family’s home multiple times, highlighting ongoing issues. The release of the video aims to showcase the effectiveness of the sheriff’s office’s drone technology in handling dangerous situations without resorting to deadly force.
