Sexual Assault Reported Near UCLA Fraternity Houses

UCLA has alerted students to a reported sexual assault near its fraternity houses. The incident occurred around midnight on Monday on the 600 block of Landfair Avenue, according to a warning email sent to students.

The UCLA Police Department (UCPD) is investigating the report, which states that the victim was unable to consent at the time of the assault.

UCPD Captain Jeffrey Chobanian confirmed that the alleged suspect is not affiliated with UCLA. He emphasized that the incident appears to be isolated. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 20 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with dark hair and brown eyes.

The university has urged anyone with information to contact the UCPD. They have also reminded students to utilize safety resources such as the evening escort program, the Bruins Safe app, and the UCLA SafeRide program. These resources offer escorts, location sharing, and support for those affected by sexual violence.
