Sex Offender Gets Year in Jail for Child Annoyance in Fountain Valley

WESTMINSTER (CNS) – A 55-year-old convicted sex offender was sentenced Thursday to a year in jail for molesting a 16-year-old girl in Fountain Valley.

Scott Robert Moore pleaded guilty June 22 to a misdemeanor count of annoying or molesting a child younger than 18, according to court records. He was charged in March with a felony count of annoying or molesting a child after a specific prior sex conviction.

When police did a “compliance check” at his residence in March, investigators said they learned Moore had sexually battered a 16-year-old girl, police said. Moore has a prior conviction for lewd acts on a child in December 1991, according to court records.

Moore was given credit for 212 days behind bars and was ordered to register as a sex offender.
