TUSTIN (CNS) – An 18-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a man to death and later striking a woman with a vehicle in Tustin, authorities said Monday.
Police received several calls at about 12:15 a.m. Monday regarding a pedestrian being struck in front of the Arbor Ranch Apartments at 15482 Pasadena Ave., according to Lt. Matt Nunley of the Tustin Police Department.
“There was also additional information coming in that a stabbing may have occurred at the location,” Nunley said. “Responding officers arrived and located two victims, one male and one female, outside the location on Nisson Road.”
Both victims were taken to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, where the man, suffering from stab wounds, died from his injuries. The woman, who was struck by a vehicle and suffering from “significant injuries,” was listed in stable condition, police said.
Anaheim police located the suspect at about 2:15 a.m., driving in the area of 1265 N. Kraemer Blvd. Santa Ana resident Jan Daniel Lopez was arrested without incident and transported to the Tustin Police Department.
The motive for the stabbing was not immediately clear. Tustin police urged anyone with information regarding the case to call them at 714-573-3200.
