Becker appeared on the iconic series’ fifth season, which was set in Miami. The former reality television star’s friends shared tributes to her upon news of her death on Sunday (June 23).
“I’m heartbroken to learn Sarah Becker has passed away. One of the most effortlessly cool, funny and likable people I’ve known and a wonderful friend I regret not staying in touch with more after she moved away. So many great SDCC/movie/party/hanging out memories. Love you, Sarah,” Fandom managing editor Eric Goldman wrote on his X account.
Becker reportedly moved to Illinois “to take care of family last year” and “struggled with mental health in recent months,” according to TMZ. The 52-year-old was also reportedly involved in a recent skateboarding accident.
“I just found out that one on the nicest people that have ever been put in my life, especially during my impressionable ages in my life has passed away. Every time I thought of her I would always see her smile, and bubbly personality. You were loved and will be missed,” a friend named Joel Benjamin wrote on Facebook.
Becker described herself as a “19-year-old trapped in a 25-year-old body” and brought home a puppy she named Leroy while appearing on The Real World: Miami in 1996, appearing alongside castmates Dan Renzi, Melissa Padrón, Joe Patane, Cynthia Roberts, Flora Alekseyeun, and Mike Lambert.
