Primm Valley Casino Resorts, the last full-time casino in Primm, Nevada, is set to close permanently by July 4. Located on Interstate 15 at the California-Nevada border, Primm was once a bustling gambling destination. According to a termination notice sent to employees on Tuesday, all staff will be let go by July 6.
Primm Valley was the last of three casinos in the area, following the closures of Whiskey Pete’s in December 2024 and Buffalo Bill’s, which shifted to an event-only operation in July 2025. The closure marks the end of an era for Primm, which was known for offering a less expensive alternative to Las Vegas.
The decision to close the resorts comes amid declining traffic and increased competition from tribal casinos in California. In a letter to the Clark County Board of Commissioners, Erin Barnett, Affinity’s vice president and general counsel, noted that weekend traffic was insufficient to support three full-time casino properties.
The Primadonna Company, owned by Affinity Gaming, will also close the Primm Center and Flying J truck stop. The company is working with the State of Nevada Rapid Response team to assist affected employees.
The closure of Primm Valley Casino Resorts signifies the end of a significant chapter in the town’s history. Once a quirky gambling scene, Primm is now struggling to survive as newer casinos offer more convenient options for Southern Californians.
