Potential Harris Running Mate Shares, Deletes Cryptic Post Before Decision

Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly shared and quickly deleted a post that raised speculation about no longer being considered as a potential running mate for Vice President Kamala Harris on the Democratic ticket for the 2024 presidential election.

“My background is a bit different than most politicians,” the since-deleted X post states. “I spent my life serving in the Navy and at NASA, where the mission always comes first.

“Now my mission is serving Arizonans.”

Kelly then shared a similar post that seemed to be more in line with potentially serving as Harris’ running mate, rather than focusing on his current role as Arizona’s senator.

“Whether it was from my time in the Navy and at NASA, serving in the United States Senate, or visiting our troops overseas: I’ve learned that when your country asks you to serve, you always answer the call,” Kelly wrote in a post that showed him speaking with U.S. Army soldiers.

Harris is reportedly considering Kelly, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg as potential options, according to multiple reports. The vice president reportedly plans to announce her decision on Monday (August 5), according to Reuters.
