SAN PEDRO (CNS) – Residents and visitors of the city will be able to take free boat tours of the Los Angeles harbor, featuring views of the port, ships, cargo terminals and more, port officials announced Tuesday.
The Port of Los Angeles will start offering the free tours on Sept. 14 aboard Harbor Breeze Cruises.
According to officials, tours are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., departing from two locations — Banning’s Landing Community Center at 100 E. Water Street in Wilmington and Downtown Harbor near the Los Angeles Maritime Museum, located at 6th Street and Harbor Boulevard in San Pedro.
A limited number of free tour reservations are available on the port’s website at https://www.portoflosangeles.org/community/events/free-harbor- boat-tours. They are available on a first-come, first served basis. There will be a standby line, which will close at 1 p.m., or earlier, if the line exceeds “a maximum capacity,” according to port officials.
There will be wheelchair-accessible boardings at both locations, as well as parking for participants with disabilities.
Three boat tours will be dog-friendly, but only for well-socialized and well-behaved dogs on a leash. These tours are scheduled for 11 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.
Rides will be approximately 50 minutes with a tour guide providing details about the Port of Los Angeles.
