Popular Frozen Meals Recalled After ‘Wood-Like Material’ Found In The Food

Nestlé USA has announced a voluntary recall of four frozen meal varieties due to the potential presence of “wood-like material.” The recall affects Lean Cuisine Butternut Squash Ravioli, Lean Cuisine Spinach Artichoke Ravioli, Lean Cuisine Lemon Garlic Shrimp Stir Fry, and Stouffer’s Party Size Chicken Lasagna. These products were distributed nationwide at major retailers from September 2024 to March 2025.

The recall was initiated after consumers reported the issue to Nestlé, including one potential choking incident. Nestlé is collaborating with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to address the situation. The company stated, “We are actively investigating the source of the wood-like material. We are confident that this is an isolated issue, and we have taken action to address it.”

Customers who have purchased these products are advised not to consume them. Instead, they should return the items to the place of purchase for a full refund or replacement. For further assistance, consumers can contact Nestlé USA at (800) 681-1676, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST.

Nestlé emphasized that the quality and safety of their products remain their top priority and apologized for any inconvenience caused. The company assures that no other Lean Cuisine or Stouffer’s products are affected by this recall.
