Police Seek Driver Who Left Girl Critically Injured in South L.A.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Police Thursday sought the public’s help in locating a driver who left the scene after hitting and seriously injuring a 14-year-old girl in South Los Angeles last month.

The girl was struck by a white pickup truck at about 8:35 p.m. on June 6 in the area of 90th Street and Vermont Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspect’s vehicle was headed north on Vermont and hit the girl as she crossed the street inside a marked crosswalk. The driver did not stop.

Firefighters took the girl to a hospital, where she remains in critical condition, police said.

Anyone with information that could help investigators identify the driver was urged to call the LAPD’s South Traffic Division at 213-677-9791 to speak with Officer Lozada.
