LONG BEACH (CNS) – Police Tuesday are continuing their search for the assailant who shot a man near the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.
The shooting was reported around 8 p.m. Sunday and Long Beach Police Department officers responded to the Public Safety Building at 400 West Broadway regarding a shots fired call. When they arrived, the officers found the victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the upper body, the police department said.
During the course of their investigation, police learned the victim and a suspect were engaged in a verbal altercation near the area of The Paseo and Aquarium Way when the suspect drew a gun and shot the victim, according to police.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the victim to a hospital in stable condition.
The suspect ran away from the scene prior to the officers’ arrival and the investigation is ongoing.
