LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A woman who was walking in a crosswalk was struck and killed Tuesday by a driver who failed to stop near Baldwin Hills.
Los Angeles Police Department officers were called at 1:55 a.m. to 5798 W. Obama Blvd. near La Cienega Boulevard where they learned a dark colored vehicle was driving north on La Cienega where they struck the pedestrian, an LAPD spokesman told City News Service.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were contacted and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Fox 11 reported the victim was walking in the crosswalk with her boyfriend, who was not injured, when she was struck by the speeding vehicle.
The vehicle drove away from the scene without stopping and police are searching the scene for any possible debris that the vehicle might have left behind.
