A mother and father have been arrested in Los Angeles in connection with the death of their 14-month-old child.
The LAPD confirmed the arrests of Annabell Porcayo and Jaime Lopez on Tuesday. The investigation began after officers responded to a hospital on South Grand Avenue on Sunday, where the child had been taken by the mother. Hospital staff contacted the police, but it remains unclear what prompted this action.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet determined the cause of death. In addition to the arrests, two other children of Porcayo and Lopez were taken into protective custody. Further details about the case have not been released.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not disclosed any potential charges against the parents.
