At least two people were killed, and ten others were injured after a pair of shootings along a popular parade route in New Orleans on Sunday (November 17) afternoon. The first shooting occurred around 3:40 p.m. in the St. Roch neighborhood, which is northeast of the French Quarter.
The New Orleans Police Department said that when officers arrived, they found eight victims who had been shot. They were all taken to the hospital. Officials said that a ninth victim transported themselves to the hospital for treatment.
Initial reports indicated that a vehicle pulled up, and two guns were used to fire into a crowd of people.
About 45 minutes later, the police received another report of a shooting just over a mile away. Officials said that two people were found shot at the scene. One person was declared dead at the scene, while the other person was rushed to the hospital, where they died from the injuries. A third victim was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle and is listed in stable condition.
