Ongoing Investigation of Three-Vehicle Collision in Placentia

PLACENTIA (CNS) – A person who police called an innocent bystander was killed in a three-vehicle collision in Placentia during a police pursuit, and the California Highway Patrol today is continuing its investigation of the fatal collision.

Officers with the Anaheim Police Department were conducting a ”law enforcement operation” around 7:40 p.m. Wednesday when the pursuit began, Sgt. Eric Anderson told City News Service.

The suspect drove into nearby Placentia, Anderson confirmed the pursuit ended at Bradford and Madison avenues, where the suspect’s vehicle collided with two other vehicles.

The victim — whose name, age and gender were not immediately known and was driving one of the vehicle that was struck by the suspect’s  — was pronounced dead at the scene by personnel from the Placentia Fire and Life Safety Department.

According to Fox 11, the suspect was arrested at the site of the collision and a victim of the collision was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

CHP personnel responded to the scene and were investigating the cause of the collision, a spokeswoman with its Irvine Communications Center told City News Service.
