One Man Dead in Compton Shooting, Shooter Remains At Large

COMPTON (CNS) – A man was fatally shot today in Compton.

Sheriff’s deputies responded at approximately 12:57 a.m. to the intersection of Compton Boulevard and Lime Street, where they found the victim was shot in the chest, said Deputy Miguel Meza of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

Detectives discovered the man was transported to a hospital by a private vehicle. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

A motive for the killing was unknown. No suspect information was available.
