One Killed, One Critically Injured When Vehicle Slams Into Bus Stop

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – One person was killed and another was critically injured when a vehicle crashed into a bus stop Wednesday in the Elysian Park area of Los Angeles.

The crash was reported just after 4:20 p.m. in the area of 1001 N. Broadway, fewer than two miles from Dodger Stadium, said Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

One pedestrian who was struck by the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. That person’s name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Two other injuries were reported, and one of those victims was taken to a hospital in critical condition. It was not immediately known if the patients were pedestrians or occupants of vehicles.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
