LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Authorities were seeking the public’s help to identify the person responsible for a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian today.
The vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash occurred Thursday around 12:50 a.m. on Western Avenue north of Wilshire Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. An unknown vehicle was traveling south on Western when it struck the man in the No. 2 lane, outside of a marked crosswalk, police said.
The motorist drove away fled without stopping. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and provided medical attention, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
