LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Fresh off her medal-winning achievements at the Olympics in Paris, Jordan Chiles will return to UCLA and will compete on the Bruin’s gymnastics team in the 2025 season, the university announced Thursday.
“I’m thrilled for Jordan to return to Westwood,” UCLA Gymnastics coach Janelle McDonald said in a statement. “Not only has she proven to be one of the best gymnasts in the world, but she has also shown time and time again that she is one of the most supportive and encouraging sportswomen around. She’s an incredible ambassador for NCAA Gymnastics and UCLA.
“Jordan brings passion, heart, hard work and unparalleled energy to the team. And more than that, she shows up authentically as herself, and that’s exactly what a Bruin is.”
Chiles will be a junior when she returns to the Westwood campus. She told the “Today” show Thursday morning she plans to “represent the Bruins for my two remaining years of college.”
Chiles won a team gold medal with the USA gymnastics team in Paris, along with a bronze medal in the floor exercise. She won a silver medal in team competition in the previous Olympic games, making her the most decorated Olympian in UCLA women’s gymnastics history.
Chiles also won three medals at the 2022 World Championships, and three at the 2023 Pan American Games.
In 2022, she led the Bruins in team competition with 432.775 points and recorded three perfect 10s — two on the floor exercise and one on uneven bars.
When the Bruins’ 2025 season begins in January, Chiles will be one of three Olympians on the squad, joining Emma Malabuyo of the Philippines and Brooklyn Moors of Canada.
