Ohtani’s NLCS Home Run Ball Could Be Worth Millions For Man Who Caught It

A Santa Fe Springs man, David Flores, may have caught a piece of baseball history during Game 4 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS) at Dodger Stadium.

Shohei Ohtani, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ two-way superstar, delivered a stunning performance that night, hitting three home runs and striking out ten batters. His third home run ball landed directly in the hands of Flores, a longtime Dodgers fan and boxing coach, who attended the game on a whim.

Flores, 35, described the moment as destiny, saying, “I’m very fortunate to have caught this baseball. It just happened to land in my lap because destiny chose for it to land in my lap.” As the ball soared into the crowd, Flores instinctively knew it would ricochet off the people in front of him. He calmly caught it with his bare hands, holding it tightly like a football.

Ohtani’s performance is being hailed as one of the greatest in sports history, and the home run ball has become a coveted piece of memorabilia. According to Yahoo Sports, Flores plans to wait until after the World Series to decide what to do with the ball.

The decision to attend the game was a last-minute one for Flores, who stretched his budget to purchase a $200 ticket in the left-field pavilion. However, the investment seems to have paid off, as the home run ball could potentially be worth millions. Although the Dodgers have not yet contacted him, Flores has already received a generous offer for the ball, but may offer it up for auction instead.
