NYC Man Falls To Death From 6th-Floor Window Trying To Escape Home Invaders

A 73-year-old man, identified as Jacinto Remigo, tragically fell to his death from a sixth-floor apartment window while trying to escape a home invasion in Manhattan’s Washington Heights neighborhood on Saturday (November 23). According to the New York City Police Department, the incident occurred around 4:40 a.m. when one of the suspects entered the apartment through a window and then let in two other accomplices.

The intruders tied up Remigo’s 40-year-old son, who was believed to be the intended target of the invasion. The suspects stole a gold chain valued at around $8,000 and $200 in cash.

During the chaos, Remigo attempted to escape by climbing out of a window. He fell from the window and landed on the scaffolding below. He was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

As of Sunday evening, the police had not released any suspect descriptions. The NYPD is asking anyone with any information about the incident to contact NYPD’s Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or submit a confidential tip via their website or on @NYPDTips.
